My Brave Big Bruv fought from the beginging until the end. He was diagnosed with Cancer in October
08 but he never gave up and he gave everything he had to stay with us, he amazed doctors and has
made us all even prouder of him, he had incredible courage.
He has always been very generous, friendly and full of fun towards everyone he has met. He always
rose to challenges whether it was for a new badge for his Scout Blanket, he would always push
himslef on Sports Day even though he was not a born athlete. He took part in many school productions
and Arts Festivals in secoundary school from playing his saxophone to a comedy skit with his
friends. He even wore platforms, red fishnet tights, mini skirt and full make-up to school one day
as a challenge.
He worked hard to build a future for his family. His love and dedication in supporting Suzy through
a very difficult and dangerous pregnancy was very evident. He has always been an extremely proud and
loving father to Luca.
During his visits back home he has always intiated a play fight with dad which has normally ended
with us all in fits of giggles.
He has made me his Lil Sis and many many others so proud of him and honoured to have been part of
his life. Love you always My Big Bruv xxxxxx

My Big Bruv.
I still cant believe you have gone. I have been going through my room, finding cards and notes you have left me over the years. A letter telling me what you have been up to in Newcastle and a quick note asking permission to borrow my walkman, even though you were taking my walkman anyway. Ive been wanting to text you to tell you what Ive found, a 1989 Christmas card to us both from Nanna and Gra and it still plays "Jingle Bells" when I open it.
I cant believe you have gone, I know you are at peace now and no longer in any pain. I have been honoured to call you "My Big Bruv" and for you to call me "Yous Lil Sis". Im so proud of you Aust. xxxxxxxxxxx Always in my heart Big Bruv xxxxxxxxxx
Austen were pretty much a double act right from the moment we started college. We were all a really close group and often rolled out from nightclubs together! I always remember Suzy telling me she had a date with Austen one night, and the next day all she did was smile, and ever the true gent-Austen smiled sweetly and said nothing! That was it-the relationshio was borne and Austen and Suzys affection and love for eachother was infectious. I haven't seen them for a long time but when I finally found Suzy on facebook I was overjoyed to chat to Suzy and find out they were married with a beautiful baby boy! And the wedding! What a gorgeous sight! Suzy looked perfect and Austen a real proud, happy gentleman.Lots of love, Clare Henson xxx
To Suzy
Dearest Suzy
I didn't have the pleasure in knowing your lovely husband but I did have the pleasure in knowing you. Emma has told us a little about Austen and what a smashing bloke he was and you, Suzy, deserved him, because my memories of you are nothing but affectionate and joyful. Emma has told us of the funny things you did and said when you were teenagers and my heart goes out to you, Luca and the rest of the family.
Take care pet.
Love Clare & Len (Emma's Mum and Dad)
Eeyore - you made me smile xxx
Austen and I were both theatre players, and starred in a variety of plays at Redroofs Theatre School. None of which made me smile quite so much as his fabulous rendition of Eeyore in the Tale of Pooh Bear performance that we did. It was truly hard to hold back the laughter as Austen sloped out onto the stage with his fabulous Eeyore drawl ... complete with purple bowed tail. Austen and I also attended the same secondary school, and I have never met anyone so gentle and calm as he was. Austen never had a bad word to say about anyone. A true kind and gentle soul. You will bring everyone a warm smile wherever your spirit lies.

An exceptional pupil
Mr Palmer and myself (Mrs Harvey, now Mrs Palmer) were Austen's Art Teachers at Cox Green School. We were so very shocked to hear about Austen, and remember him as an exceptional pupil, and one that was admired and respected by all staff, for his dedication to his learning, his lovely sense of humour, his pride in his work, his respect for others, and his ever present charm. It is testament to him that after so many years we still remember him with genuine affection as one of the best pupils we taught over 25 years at Cox Green. We are sure that anyone who knew him from school will share our sentiments. We send our deepest sympathy to all his family and friends. I am sure you all will have much to celebrate about the special person that was Austen.
Austen - he will always be the real Peter Pan! A joy to have known and an honour to have called him a friend. Sleep well Austen and let your strength and courage be a lesson to us all. One day we'll all be together again and the dinosaurs of Newcastle College will run free! Thoughts and prayers from us all to Suzy, Luca and the rest of the family. Much love, Mel, Dave and Charlie xxx
We have all been very lucky to know and have Austen in our lives. I have known him since college and what a belter of a wee man. Funny, kind, honest, loving and as brave as I think anyone could ever dream of being. To Suze and to Luca and to his family I send all our love. Vicky, Tim and Pod xxx
A gentle man
I was lucky enough to have worked with Austen at Sage and although we often disagreed about his haircut there is no doubt he was a gentleman in every sense of the word. I will remember him that way and my thoughts are for his wife and son that he loved very much.
He has gone but will not be forgotten by those who were lucky enough to have known him.
